Liz Solange is a versatile artist and has experience in many different projects. From choirs to productions to assistant directing, Liz is involved in many aspects of the entertainment industry.
As an actor, Liz started her journey when she was five years old in the production of the musical version of Narnia. Since her start in Narnia, she has been in 2-3 different productions every year. Some of these shows can include, The Wizard of Oz (2008), Annie (2014), The Little Mermaid (2013), Matilda (2010), Madeline (2011), Destiny (2013), My Sister Makes me Sick (2012) Shrek the Musical (2015), Honk! (2013), Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (2015), Godspell (2009), the Witches (2009), and Mirror Mirror (2011). Even though Liz dedicated most of her time to theater, she also was very interested in becoming a well rounded professional. She spent most of her summers training in several artist workshops for theater and music. Some of these programs include the Berklee College of Music summer program, Broadway Break Thru, and Theater of Light. Along with many masterclasses from Derek Klena, Charlie Altruman, Antonio Cipriano, and Craig Carnelia. Throughout these productions and educational opportunities, she was studying voice and piano with her instructor, Adria Smith.
During her life, Liz has also been involved in the music world. She has been in many choirs around the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. These choirs can include Boston Children’s theater’s Senior Show Choir, Bishop Fenwick High School Choir, Bishop Fenwick’s Select Choir, Old North Church Festival Chorus, and Massachusetts Junior District Choir, which she needed to receive a perfect score to take part. For 7 years, Liz sang the National Anthem for the Town of Marblehead, Massachusetts’s Memorial Day Tribute.
When she reached High School, she only seemed to be more involved in the world she loves. She joined two choirs and was in several different productions. Some of these productions were Footloose (2016), A Charlie Brown Christmas (2015), The Pajama Game (2017), 44 plays for 44 Presidents (2016), and School of Rock (2018). Along with her school productions, she was involved with Boston Children’s Theater’s choir and productions; such as The Velveteen Rabbit (2017), Legally Blonde (2017) , and Carrie: the Musical (2019). After getting her diploma, she then traveled to New York to pursue a BFA in Performance with a minor in Musical Theater at Hofstra University. Some of these productions as an actor include, Eurydice (2022), Everybody (2021), The Yellow Boat (2022), Little Women (2021), and It’s the Word: Songs from Grease (2020).
Even though Liz has spent many years performing, she has also been on the other side of the table. She has assisted in musical direction for Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory (2014), Shrek the Musical (2015), and Fiddler on the Roof (2016). She has assistant directed Hofstra University’s production of Barefoot in the Park (2020). She also was the dramaturg for Hofstra University’s production of Barbecue, directed by Kevin R. Free (2021).
